Rifa – It’s all about colour

Does your favourite green pullover originate from a green sheep? No! The wool is dyed next door, at Rifa, short for Richter Färberei & Ausrüstung in Stadtallendorf.

We are a medium-sized and innovative company with a long tradition.

For 150 years everything spins around wool. The dyeing process and treatment of wool, silk and man-made-fibres is our core-competence. Even if the customer has an unusual colour preference, be it in form of a felt, yarn or even on scrap of paper, we are able to create the precise recipe. From dark to light shades, pastel or fluoresce, nothing is impossible.

In a congenial, creative and pleasant working environment, roughly 110 locally living employees process and refine the valuable raw material wool. The strong team spirit, flat hierarchy and opportunities to advance your personal and professional skills, makes Rifa exceptional.

In 2014 Rifa became an essential part of Südwolle Group, a family-owned company from Schwaig, Metropolitan Area Nuremberg. Südwolle Group is the world market leader of worsted yarn. Specialised in pure wool and wool blends for the weaving, flat and circular knitting, luxury, fancy as well as technical segment.

Rifa uses an environment-friendly, one-of-a-kind procedure, to make wool machine-washable and easy-care for customers: Naturetexx® Plasma is the name of the treatment, in which a plasma field modifies the wools’ surface.
