Queen Elizabeth already knew it in the 1500s: She tried on the first ever pair of knitted stockings and was so impressed by their elasticity and fineness that she would never wear woven hosiery again. Knitting soon became a way to emancipate the human skin, no longer squeezed into cut and sewn woven material the body was freer to move and stretch.
Inspired by its multi-layered structure, young designer Jack Randol experimented with fabric surfaces to visually accentuate the human skin’s motion. He created knitted structures using our pure wool quality Victoria Nm 30/2 and elastic yarns, calling his project ‚The Big Squeeze‘.
What a creative work!
