Südwolle Group as yarn sponsor for Italian International BNL

The Italian International BNL – one of the three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events and most prestigious tennis competitions worldwide – has been supported by Südwolle Group yarn. For this tournament which took place in Foro Italico in Rome from 10th until 21st of May 2017 the technical official sponsor Australian developed special Merino garments together with Woolmark Company and other leading wool industry companies. The result of this collaboration is a collection made of wool blends to equip judges, ball boys, executive staff, cameramen and the ATP team of Australian during the tennis tournament and to promote Merino as top material for sports and performance apparel. For the Australian production of polo shirts and t-shirts Südwolle Group delivered the quality Newcastle Nm 60/1, dyed in Biella. The wool collection is avaible at the BNL international boutique in Italy and here on the Australian website.

Responsible Wool Standard certification for Yangtse Spinning – European certification in progress

Yangtse Spinning in Zhangjiagang, including Dyeco and Shenglong, has recently been certified with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) by the organisation Textile Exchange. The certication is vaild as of now and can be downloaded here.

RWS, as an independent and voluntary standard, aims to provide our industry with a tool that recognizes the best practices among farmers, brands and supply chain partners. It ensures the protection of the land and that sheep are treated with the respect to the Five Freedoms (freedom from hunger and thirst, freedom to display normal patterns of behaviour, freedom from discomfort or inadequate shelter, freedom from unnecessary pain or distress and freedom from significant injury or disease). The certification of our European production is already in progress.

Our Preferred Supplier Program – Award for G. Modiano Ltd.

In order to deliver the best service and highest quality to our customers, Südwolle Group provides transparency along the entire supply chain and seeks to build long term relationships with customers, partners and employees. To analyze and manage the performance of our suppliers, we established in 2013 our Supplier Performance Scorecard that measures the following key parameters:

Quality (Out of standards)
On time delivery/leadtime

A total score allows us to compare the overall performance of our supply partners. „At first we were surprised that the results weren’t as positive as we expected“ says Mirko Lindner, Purchasing Director of Suedwolle Group. „But our suppliers took the challenge, improved their performance and step by step we could reward their efforts.“

In 2016, our European partner G. Modiano Ltd. was the first to achieve an A-Score the third time in a row. We rewarded these extraordinary results with (administrative) process simplifications and a Preferred Supplier Award that was presented in London in November 2016. We thank G. Modiano for their efforts and their contribution to improve the flexibility and service quality for our customers.
